What does a Wedding Celebrant actually do?

Apart from the ceremony itself, what services does a Wedding Celebrant provide?

There are two main tasks. Firstly, there is the legal side of the wedding, ensuring the paperwork is completed accurately and on time, solemnising your wedding on the day and then registering your marriage soon after.

The other task and a very satisfying one for me, is to craft and deliver a ceremony that reflects the personality and wishes of you and your loved one. Here are some things that I offer to all couples:

An in-person meeting where we get to know each other and develop a rapport.

I provide full guidance in writing your vows and optional ceremony inclusions and ideas from a large portfolio of material, ensuring a ceremony that is uniquely you.

I allow for constant contact before the ceremony and follow up after.

I also offer the all-important on-site rehearsal, to ensure you are relaxed on the day and know what will happen and when.

A microphone and PA system can be provided and I also offer a colour consultation service, matching my tie and pocket square with your colour themes.

On the day, I will support you and your loved one and bring the whole ceremony together, guiding the bridal tribe as to what happens next, co-coordinating with photographer and videographer.

However, the most important role of your Celebrant is to keep everyone relaxed, calm and ready to participate, helping everything to flow smoothly. This should create memories to last a lifetime.
